Keep Walking... 09/23/2008

New aim, new phase of my life, i took this choice and will be holding onto it entirely on my own. If everything is as what was planned for me, then I would really be happy. However, if it happens, then I know there would be a potential regret which I had considered before putting my pen onto the paper. If that regret comes, how will I go about it...

Just a week of learning...and I strongly adhere to Johnnie Walker's tagline...'Keep Walking'. With that, I want to achieve big things...'There is no challenger greater than oneself, you see him in the mirror every morning'...damn, I just made that up...i wonder if anyone has written that before...

Oosh! Yes, I finally ran the HumanRace 10km on a good Sunday, I'm real glad there wasn't really any rain for this event.

Meet dog and Junwei 230pm at Cityhall MRT, we took our time to Esplanade park where we deposit our 'barang barang'. It was pretty much still early before the race, yet the crowd was already building up with ppl jogging around for their warm ups.

4pm, everyone gathered at the starting point, apparently, ppl were way earlier and we had to squeezze our way into the first wave...

BEFORE:
We ain't hardcore running junkies, so we went around the vicinity, took pictures of ourselves BEFORE the race, walking around in Esplanade, on the roof top, library...basically enjoying air-con, more of 'cooling-down' then warming up for the run LOL.

With the pool of red counting down with the emcees Utt and another girl, its the commencement of the run! A sea of red runners waving to the camera place above us...Lots of human congestion and overtaking lol. Plenty of jokes between my pals and I, however, as the kilometres clocked on us, jokes become huff and puff.

I guessed I wasn't well hydrated the day before, I was feeling kinda thirsty and dehydrated somewhere in the 6km mark, splashed myself with a cup of water and gulped down another 100plus at the 7.5km water point. However, this perk ran out fast, thirst took over, I was literally aiming and holding on to the finishing line...for water lol.

9km mark, I thought I would be able to get my gear up like most runners, dashing towards the finishing line. But I was really parched, all I could do was constant speed. Saw the WWF Panda mascot waving to us, I knew end was close, I gave a hard high' 10 to Mr Panda and eventually finished the race. WATER TIME!! lol

After:
Finishing line...say Cheese! *Huff, Puff, Grasp*

Concert for runners! Showcasing new local talents and I think Boys Like Girls were there later that night as mentioned by the event. But we were starved, so we made our 'Little Escape' from there and missed BLG. Meh...
